However, Armani's offering seems to have a touch more testosterone added to the formula perhaps reflecting the powerhouse olfactory zeitgeist of the 80's as perhaps best represented by YSL's Kouros (1981) or Chanel's Antaeus (1981). While the deodorant and shampoo smell pretty much the same, the aftershave balm smells like the finest lotion, while the scent plays in the background. My only complaint is I wish Armani would step it up and make it as an Eau De Parfum instead of a toilette.

I could imagine Gordon Gekko wearing this fragrance in the 80's or a stylishly dressed man in an Italian suit. But you have to go quite heavy here I sparyed one on the neck left side and one on the neck right side. Dry cedar and grassy vetiver accompany the telltale oakmoss bite of Armani Eau Pour Homme's finish, while sandalwood and patchouli act in the base much like the herbs and neroli do in the heart, smoothing out the rough edges. These days, I prefer Creed's Neroli Sauvage or (believe it or not) Ferrari's Red Power Ice has a similar classic Italian vibe. Armani Eau Pour Homme is not an incredibly complex fragrance and that might just be the point behind it.

Anyway, as with the 1980s version, this one is pleasant and distinctive, but more for the mature gentleman than the young.

It lasts on my skin for about four hours with moderate projection and still hangs around for a few hours more but more close to my skin. I also am not disappointed by this 2013 reformulation and find it very similar to how I remember the original.I've gotten many compliments from women when I wear it, and I'm sure it will be a staple with me for years to come. Perfect for day, it evokes the Italian heat, but is also classy enough for nighttime, though in an intimate low light setting like a dinner, I would opt for something smoother. To prolong the longevity of the fragrance, we recommend using products from the same range such as shower gels, body lotions or deodorants. In about a couple of hours the invigorating spice bonfire quietly excuses itself and a deeper and darker mystery unfolds itself.

In just a moment, the initial musky note relaxes a bit and takes one step down letting the citrus, spicy and floral accords to come up more clearly, noticeable but not prominent. Armani by Giorgio Armani (1982) kicked off the perfume venture, and was followed by this two years later as a men's companion scent. It made me curious about the original formulation and I would be curious to try that, to see if it has that special thing that I liked.

Its similar to dior eau Sauvage, really pleasant and uplifting, its edt so to not expect much of a performance, it has a good Sillage but not a good longevity which is ok as an Edt. Finally, from the base are released: cedar wood, with its references to freshly cut wood, the sensuality of Moschus, the woodland inspiration typical of oak moss and sandalwood, the precious wood that gives structure to the composition.

I do find similarities with Eau Sauvage, but it is less rounded and full, though I am enjoying the aromatic dry down. Given it's an Armani, it is surprising that the quality of materials is highly questionable - when contrasted with other compositions from their range. This further lends support to the possibility that this particular fragrance has suffered badly from reformulation.Since its output, it smell as a very natural lemon with herbal spices, in a very mediterranean style, in its medium phase grows up the smell of flowers with a prominent nutmeg and cloves. This brew lies somewhere between a classic citrus Eau de Cologne, and things like Bulgari and Gendarme that I categorize as clean, professional background scents. I read from the Now Smell This bloggers that there's hardly any difference between the old and the new.
