Now, The Rock's love of Black Adam is on full display again in a new video posted to his Instagram, showing the star interacting with press at Warner Bros. Hailed as the slave who became Champion, the mortal Teth-Adam was bestowed the powers of the gods, transforming into a fearsome superpowered being at the utterance of a single magic word: SHAZAM. The skeletal warriors, however, are completely useless, easily taken down by a rabble of town-folk who Generic Boy rallies to fight using the same symbol as the boy champion from 5,000 years ago (because most modern societies totally cling to 5,000 year-old traditions! I have seen some audience reviews that proclaim they love the film because it isn’t “woke” and doesn’t shove a message down your throat.

That alone is super goofy, as it would be nigh impossible to know if you were related to someone that long dead, but whatever. Russian mafioso Ishmael Gregor lusted after the power the entity had so, tracking down the original avatar Timothy Karnes and killing him, performed a ritualistic mass murder to gain the dark magical strength and abilities of the demons Satan, Aym, Belial, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, and Crateis. Black Adam has become the latest front in the never-ending pop culture wars, though I have to admit that whatever culture war ammunition you find in this movie probably says more about you than about the film itself. This crown was created 5,000 years ago when the champion first walked the earth, and somehow the bad guy in the present timeline knows that he’s related to this 5,000 years dead king. In any case, we have yet another divide in critic consensus and audience scores and it’s a pretty sizable one.Find out more about Black Adam with our extensive look at the film’s superhero cast, as well as our look at the complicated history of Shazam! Based on merchandise descriptions leaked several months ago, McFarlane Toys appears to be in charge of Black Adam’s tie-in collectibles and Sabbac certainly looks like a product of creator Todd McFarlane’s sculptors. Back in October 2020, The Illuminerdi reported rumors that Black Adam producers were eyeing Marwan Kenzari for the role of Sabbac in Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming DC antihero film. Once he gets the crown he gains the powers of the demons and turns into a fiery monstrosity who can raise an army of the dead to fight alongside him. Features a newly developed head sculpt with separate rolling eyeballs applied with luminous reflective effects to further emphasize the moments he uses his power; Black Adam’s iconic outfit with LED illuminated lightning emblem, an intricate fabric cape with gold patterns and weathering effects; a newly designed body to portray his muscular physique, gradient blue colored lightning effect accessories and a figure stand.

Fate is killed, it feels more like a waste of a potentially fascinating character rather than an emotional moment.Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the powers of the ancient gods – and imprisoned just as quickly – Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world. And hey, I’m totally fine with movies not shoving political messages down our throats, but the absence of that does not a good film make.

In addition to Johnson, who stars as Teth-Adam/Black Adam, the movie's cast includes Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Pierce Brosnan, Marwan Kenzari, and Sarah Shahi. Sure, Black Adam is more willing to kill people than most other heroes, but given the people he’s killing are all generic, heavily armed bad guys we never really have to explore whether this is, in fact, a moral dilemma. Nearly 5,000 years later, Black Adam is freed from his slumber and finds himself in a world he does not recognize. He takes out tons of mercenaries and then battles against the Justice Society and then fights more mercenaries and then fights the Justice Society again and finally, in the very end, faces the powerful demon king villain in a fight that can only go one way.First Look at main villain Sabbac in ‘Black Adam’ revealed with the merchandising of the film,” GabiMG_News tweeted on Friday with accompanying images. In the end, the group itself feels more like a joke than anything we should take seriously, and even that falls flat given we know next to nothing about any of these heroes. Judging by what actually transpires in the film, I think the answer to that question is an obvious “No. Now, it looks as though Black Adam’s villain is one of Hollywood’s worst-kept secrets, with new toy images seemingly confirming his role in the film. This toy reveal makes it looks as though Sabbac will be the villain in the upcoming Black Adam movie.
